TP-7
Also: Selanc
Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro
§ Overview
A synthetic analogue of the immunomodulatory peptide tuftsin, developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics in Russia. Selank has anxiolytic and nootropic properties, approved in Russia for treatment of anxiety and neurasthenia. It modulates mood without sedation or addiction potential.
§ Mechanism
Modulates GABA-A receptor expression, influences BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) levels, stabilizes enkephalins (endogenous opioid peptides) from enzymatic degradation, and modulates serotonin metabolism. Enhances IL-6 and affects the balance of T-helper cytokines.
